Climbing on the hills around and above Prilep in moderate weather conditions will be best experienced in spring and autumn. Soft winters in last years have proven that this period can also be very interesting as far as the boulders don’t get covered with too much snow. Dry and sunny winter days are just the conditions to look for when planning a trip in that part of the year.

Summers in Macedonia in general are considered to be way too hot to offer any decent bouldering conditions and the lack of shade along with the sun’s orientation over the hills doesn’t help much with that problem. Depending on individual climbing preference and short term weather forecast end of May until September is considered to be “to hot to climb” even by the locals. Otherwise the climate in the region is considered to be mainly continental with quite hot summers.
